Unit Name: SICU Building: Parkridge Main Hospital Cost Center: 650 (PMC)
Number of Beds: 12 Patient Ratios: Standard ICU 1RN:2 Patients unless higher or lower acuity
Unit staffing description- (unit secretaries and tech availability): 1 dayshift secretary
Type of equipment: Standard critical care equipment plus Impella, Hemosphere advance monitoring platform.
Documentation system: Meditech
Scheduling requirements: Participative scheduling. Manager reserves right to move staff around to fill in gaps in schedule at time of submission, minimum 3 weekend shifts per month, block scheduling not guaranteed.
Floating policy: Must float to other units in the facility as required.
Patient Experience requirements: Nurses explain care and medications, nurses treat with courtesy and respect, call light answered timely.
Certifications: ACLS, BLS. CCRN a plus.
Hiring profile Requested Skill Set: Must have: Cardiac critical care experience
Advanced skills needed: Ability to care for post open heart minimum of 1 to 2 days postop. Impella heart pump, CRRT a plus. Critical care team responds to rapids and code blue.
Procedures performed on unit: Intubations, CRRT, hemodynamic monitoring
Certifications Required: ACLS and BLS minimum. CCRN a plus
Dress Code: (Required uniform) Navy Scrubs
Unit Guidelines/Policies: Designated critical care staff respond to rapids and codes. Travelers are subject to float.
