divh2Maintenance Technician/h2pThe Maintenance Technician is a key member of the Facilities Team, which has responsibility for maintenance, safety, sanitation, and appearance of Ivy Tech Community College Hamilton County equipment, facilities, and grounds as assigned. Maintenance performs a variety of maintenance tasks which may include, repair tasks on buildings and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment; minor construction projects; and/or building and grounds beautification./ppMajor responsibilities include:/pulliPerform assigned work orders in a timely manner which includes timely updates of online work order system./liliAssist in the operation and maintenance of assigned equipment including HVAC./liliPerform timely cyclical preventative maintenance tasks and maintain reporting documentation./liliAssist supervisor with cyclical safety inspections./liliAssist supervisor with managing key system./liliClean and maintain assigned areas and equipment./liliOpen and secure buildings as required./liliRespond to building system alarms as well as intrusion alarms./liliAlert appropriate personnel to system and building alarms./liliReport facility deficiencies, needs and failures to supervisor./liliSuggest methods and means for best practices and process improvements./liliPerform repairs and maintenance as directed./liliPerform seasonal tasks outside as assigned./liliLoad/unload and deliver equipment and supplies./liliMove furniture and equipment as assigned./liliAssist in the installation of copper water lines, drain lines, fixture repair or replacement./liliAssist faculty and staff as required./liliAssist students/faculty/staff with directional/security/safety information./liliPerform purchasing activities for Facilities department and maintain adequate inventory of approved products./liliAbility to proficiently operate building automation software./liliAssist with construction projects to include drywall, painting and flooring./liliAssist in the installation of conduit, wiring circuits, receptacles, switches, and controls./liliNeeds to understand polarity, 110 voltage, and 208/220 voltage. Must be able to comprehend and follow LOTO program./liliAvailability to respond to building emergencies and work off shift hours, including weekends, as requested by your supervisor./li/ulpCustomer service overriding expectation: Demonstrate a strong customer service and/or student advocacy through a positive attitude of approachability, adaptability, strong problem-solving and desire to identify and support student success.
