Position X‑Ray Technologist – Diagnostic Radiology Work Shift & Location Shift: Evening (United States of America) Salary Range: $64,972.00 – $97,458.00; $32.45–$43.53 hourly, commensurate with experience. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Maintain competent imaging skills. Practice in compliance with AMC and department policies as well as New York State Department of Health and American Registry of Radiologic Technologists standards. Assist physicians in all aspects of procedures in their assigned area. Provide a safe, positive experience for the patient. Act as a mentor and preceptor to new staff and students. Actively support AMC and the imaging department in maintaining proper accreditations. Accurately enter patient data into the computer system(s). Perform QA on images to ensure it is of diagnostic quality as well as containing accurate patient information prior to sending to PACS. Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care appropriate to the age and special characteristics of the patients. Perform on‑call duties, if applicable. Strive to grow and develop, creating a professional, progressive department with a positive atmosphere. Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast‑paced environment. Practice sterile technique, when applicable. Qualifications Diploma in Radiologic Technology from an accredited program – required. Associate's Degree in Applied Science – required. No experience needed. Effectively and professionally communicate with patients, family members, co‑workers, visitors, and multidisciplinary team. Seek out guidance and knowledge of co‑workers to achieve consensus. Read and understand policies, procedures, and safety manuals. Document patient care on appropriate AMC forms. Problem‑solve, perform exams, and interpret data efficiently and effectively. Perform basic arithmetic calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division). Calculate rates, ratios, percentages. Be honest, punctual, and perform functions to the highest ethical standard as defined by AMC. Be accurate in data entry, documentation, and use good judgment in job performance. Accept direction, carry out orders, work cooperatively, and avoid unnecessary conflict. Adhere to policies and resolve grievances and/or disagreements. Anticipate and resolve potential problems to ensure continuity of patient care. Identify problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions. Improve job performance through continuing education. Licensure & Certification Licensed Radiologic Technologist – New York State Registration in Diagnostic Radiography or possession of a limited permit to practice in the State of New York. Upon Hire – ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) required. Upon Hire – Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED (Professional Rescuer) certification required. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
