X-Ray Technologist-40 hrs/wk, Days

Department/Unit: Diagnostic Radiology. Work Shift: Day (United States of America). Salary Range: $64,972.00 - $97,458.00. Salary: $32.45−$43.53 (salary commensurate with experience). Essential Duties and Responsibilities Maintain competent imaging skills. Practice in compliance with AMC and department policies, New York State Department of Health, and American Registry of Radiologic Technologists standards. Assist physicians in all aspects of procedures in their assigned area. Provide a safe, positive experience for the patient. Act as a mentor and preceptor to new staff and students. Actively support AMC and the imaging department in maintaining proper accreditations. Accurately enter patient data into the computer system(s). Perform QA on images to ensure diagnostic quality and accurate patient information prior to sending to PACS. Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care appropriate to the age and special characteristics of the patients. On‑call duties, if applicable. Strive to grow and develop, creating a professional, progressive department with a positive atmosphere. Work effectively and efficiently in a fast‑paced environment. Practice sterile technique when applicable. Qualifications Diploma in Radiologic Technology from an accredited program – required. Associate’s Degree in Applied Science – required. No experience needed. Licensed Radiologic Technologist: New York State Registration in Diagnostic Radiography or possess a limited permit to practice in the State of New York. Upon Hire – ARRT Registered. Upon Hire – Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED Professional Rescuer certified. Effectively and professionally communicate with patients, families, co‑workers, and the multidisciplinary team. Read and understand documents such as policies, procedures, and safety manuals. Document patient care on appropriate AMC forms. Problem‑solve, perform exams, and interpret data efficiently and effectively. Perform basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) and compute rates, ratios, and percentages. Be honest, punctual, and perform functions to the highest ethical standard. Accurate in data entry, exam documentation, and use good judgment. Accept direction, carry out orders, work cooperatively and avoid unnecessary conflict. Adhere to AMC policies, procedures, and practices. Utilize AMC policies to resolve grievances or disagreements. Anticipate and resolve potential problems to ensure continuity of patient care. Identify problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Improve job performance through continuing education. Licensing & Certifications New York State Registration in Diagnostic Radiography or a limited permit. ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, Registered – required upon hire.
