Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years in Emergency Department License: Active license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH required; CPI, PALS, TNCC preferred Must-Have: EPIC experience required Previous Charge RN and Level 2 Trauma experience preferred Description: This position involves working three 12-hour night shifts from 7 PM to 7:30 AM. Two weekend shifts or four weekend days are required every six weeks. Holidays may be necessary. No call is required. Minimum of two years of emergency department experience is required. First-time travelers are welcome to apply. ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications are mandatory. CPI, PALS, and TNCC certifications are preferred. Experience in EPIC charting system is required. The nurse should possess skills in arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, and blood product administration. They should also be proficient in the care of ventilated patients and central line management. Knowledge of continuous IV sedation, stroke management, and triage is essential. The ability to interpret arterial blood gases and dysrhythmias is necessary. Experience with trauma cases, including gunshot wounds and head injuries, is preferred. The role supports a wide range of patient diagnoses in a fast-paced emergency environment. Interdisciplinary support is available from various services, including IV, respiratory, and pharmacy teams. Travelers may be floated to any campus as needed. All nurses must pass a compliance EKG exam, with two attempts allowed. Modules to be completed during orientation are non-billable and will vary in hours based on the unit.
