CT Technologist

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate CT Technologist to perform high-quality computed tomography (CT) procedures in accordance with established protocols and patient safety standards. The CT Technologist will use sound clinical judgment to assess and respond to patients’ needs before, during, and after procedures while ensuring accurate imaging, radiation safety, and regulatory compliance.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures according to prescribed protocols to ensure accurate, consistent, and high-quality diagnostic images.
• Utilize appropriate kV and mA techniques to optimize image quality while minimizing radiation exposure.
• Complete daily quality control (QC) and equipment calibration checks before performing patient studies.
• Administer radiopharmaceuticals/radioactive materials according to physician-prescribed protocols and department policies.
• Verify radiopharmaceutical activity levels prior to administration.
• Order patient-specific radiopharmaceutical doses in advance and receive and verify deliveries according to established procedures.
• Perform quality control, quality assurance, and radiation safety testing.
• Follow radiation safety guidelines and the ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principle.
• Assess and appropriately respond to patients’ needs before, during, and after CT procedures.
• Maintain, develop, and retrieve patient films and electronic imaging data for Radiologist interpretation.
• Complete required logs, manuals, charge documents, and other departmental records accurately.
• Identify and report equipment problems or malfunctions promptly to help maintain operational and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain compliance with departmental policies, regulatory requirements, and patient safety standards.
• Collaborate with Radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support quality patient care.

 

Required Education

• Graduate of an AJCERT-approved School of Radiologic Technology or an accredited Radiologic Technology program.

 

Required Licensure & Certifications

• Current New York State Radiologic Technologist License (L.R.T.)
• Current New York State Department of Health (NYS DOH) licensure as a Radiologic Technologist
• Current ARRT certification in Radiography and CT
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

 

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 1 year of CT experience .
• Strong understanding of CT imaging protocols, radiation safety, and quality control procedures.
• Ability to safely handle and administer radiopharmaceuticals according to established protocols.
• Strong patientcare, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety and image quality.
