Proposal SpecialistThe Proposal Specialist is responsible for helping establish and supporting the estimating and proposal processes meanwhile collecting and analyzing data to provide support to the company. The Proposal Specialist is responsible for performing duties which allow the estimating team to be efficient and consistent. Join one of the largest construction firms in the country (Engineering News-Record [ENR]: #1 in Power, #16 Top 50 Domestic Heavy Contractors, #13 Transportation Contractor).ResponsibilitiesEssential Job FunctionsDownload bid packages & update relevant partiesProvide daily checks of owner sites with active bid packages for updated documents, download & notifyAssign new bid packages with Estimate numbers from the Estimate LogMaintain Estimate CalendarDevelop & maintain folder structure that combines the 2 main structures currently usedDevelop & maintain consistent document controls guidelines with regards to document locations, naming and numbering conventionRegularly performs data entry, formatting as required by the Estimating management teamAssists in other duties as needed and directed.Collaborates with cross-functional departments to ensure timely implementation of change requestsAbility to be proactive about classification of documentation, orderly preservation, and continuous improvementAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusionsIdentify and report documentation gaps identified as required by policy at various levelsCreate, follow through with, and take responsibility for multiple action plans with limited supportQualificationsEducation and Work Experience RequirementsAssociates degree or equivalent combination of education and experience0-3 years related work experienceKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities RequiredBe knowledgeable of MIC Health and Safety programs and project specific regulations.When on-site, actively participate in daily toolbox meetings with crews and subcontractors.Set a personal example of safe behavior.Demonstrate attention to detail, problem sensitivity, problem solving, orientation to quality, to customer service and demonstrate the ability to gather information and evaluate it to determine compliance with standards.Advanced level of proficiency in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint and Outlook with strong impassion Excel and Word.Previous programming experience with Visio, Illustrator and Adobe PDF.Organization Skills- must be able to monitor several tasks or projects concurrentlyCommunication skills- collaborate with teams of all disciplines within the company and to present ideas and findings to colleagues and customers.Self Starter- The ability to demonstrate drive and self-motivation to be able to work well independently, with minimum supervision, while meeting deadlines, given or self-imposed.Mathematical skills- accuracy with arithmetic and subtraction, decimals, and percentages.Skilled in monitoring, critical/strategic thinking, analyzing, decision making, active listening, reading comprehension, time management, initiative and follow through.Work EnvironmentMust have the ability to travel up to 25% of the time. When visiting jobsites, the work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautionsPhysical DemandsThis position requires prolonged sitting at a desk and working at a computer.
