Event CoordinatorDepartment: Tribal ProgramsProgram: Tribal Member ServicesReports to: Tribal Member Programs SupervisorEmployment Status: Full TimeFLSA Status: Non-Exempt Schedule: 40 Hours/52 WeeksPreference: TERO Ordinance 2017-01, P.L. 93-638Job SummaryThe Event Coordinator duties and responsibilities center around planning and coordinating high-quality events of varying size and purposes, and performing acquisition activities for an array of goods and services for various departments within the Kenaitze Indian Tribe.Essential FunctionsPlan, implement, and manage all aspects of the event planning process, including but not limited to: Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, venue identification, menu development, and budget managementCollaborate with departments within the Tribe as well as local community groupsCoordinate with the Human Resource Department to plan employee eventsCoordinate with the Tribal Member Services Department to plan the Annual Membership Meeting, Quarterly Meetings, Opening of the Net and other Tribal eventsCoordinate all other events collaboratively with stakeholdersEstablish and maintain relationships with vendors and venuesPerform centralized purchasing activities as assignedAdvise programs on purchasing-related issues and provide trainingEnsures compliance with Tribal, federal, state and local employment laws regulations, Tribal policies and TERO ordinanceIt is the intent of this job description to highlight the essential functions of the position; however, it is not an all-inclusive list. To accomplish this, the Event Coordinator must possess a degree of skill in logistics to properly plan the details and anticipate potential problems that may ariseInventory controlExcellent written and oral communication skillsMaintaining accurate logs and basic written records of work performedSkilled in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with othersConducts business in a service-oriented manner that is attentive, pleasant, respectful and kind when dealing with un'ina, visitors, co-workers and othersThis position is a Covered Position subject to all requirements of the Alaska Barrier Crimes Act (ABCA) and to the Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act, (ICPA). ABCA and ICPA requirements apply and must be complied with at all times in order to remain in the position.
