Westborn Market started small in 1963, stocking only the best fruit and vegetables. Over the years we’ve expanded our aisles and locations to better take care of the community. As we grew, so did our family! We’re now a third-generation owned and operated business with four unique locations across Metro Detroit.

Job Description

This position will require strong management skills paired with market experience to lead a strong, successful deli team. You will also be expected to operate within set ranges for labor and purchase budgets. Focus will also be on researching current trends and seeking out products relevant to your department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

· Schedules staff to cover peak days/times, and within set labor budgets

· Places appropriate product orders based on sales, store demand while staying within budget

· Creating and setting successful merchandising displays

· Properly trains, manages, and develops department staff

· Properly stocks and rotates deli meats and cheeses

· Prepares, packages and prices product as needed

· Maintains current product knowledge and deli trends

· Maintains a clean and organized work area free of hazards including the maintenance of overall store cleanliness

· Abides by proper food handling and preparation guidelines and has knowledge of food safety

· Provides and leads with exceptional customer service

· Abides by Westborn Market’s time and attendance policy

 

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

· High School Diploma/GED preferred

· Ability to write legible and read with comprehension at a level where it applies to this position
