Description

American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist with at least 2 years of experience for a short-term acute care hospital OR, supporting a wide range of surgical specialties.

Details

Short term acute care hospital with 325 staffed beds

4x10 hour day shift schedule (6:45 AM - 5:15 PM)

Weekend shifts are scheduled and required

On-call required, up to 5 call shifts per month, including potential weekend call

Supports a broad range of specialties including Orthopedics, General, Neuro, Thoracic, Vascular, GYN, Urology, ENT, and Robotics (daVinci and Mako preferred)

May involve procedures such as total joint replacements, spinal fusions, hysterectomies, craniotomies, and laparoscopic cases across multiple specialties

Epic EMR preferred

May be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted site

Requirements

Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist required

BLS certification required

WA state license required if applicable

Compact license must be in hand at time of submission

Proficiency in aseptic technique and instrument processing required

Experience with a variety of surgical equipment including crash carts, scopes, and high-level disinfection required

2 professional references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required for consideration

Additional Information

Prepare and maintain sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment for a variety of surgical procedures

Support surgical teams across multiple specialties including General, Orthopedic, Neuro, Vascular, GYN, Urology, ENT, and Robotic surgeries

Assist with patient positioning, draping, and maintaining sterile fields

Perform instrument and sponge counts with the circulating team

Maintain safe, clean, and organized operating room environments

First-time travelers will be considered for this role

Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must live more than 50 miles from the facility

Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible for a travel contract

All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application

Must be willing to commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
