Job Description

The Quality Control Inspector verifies that materials and products meet internal, customer, industry, and regulatory requirements as defined by engineering drawings, standards, and specifications. This role performs receiving, in-process, and final inspections; issues Nonconforming Material Reports (NMRs) when discrepancies are found; and accurately documents inspection results within the ERP system and associated quality records. The position supports a robust Quality Management System (QMS) in a manufacturing environment, with a strong emphasis on aerospace quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming materials, parts, and assemblies to make sure they meet engineering drawings, customer requirements, and quality standards before entering production.
• Perform inspections throughout the manufacturing process to verify products are being built correctly and remain within specifications.
• Conduct final inspections on completed products before shipment to ensure all quality and customer requirements have been met.
• Use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and rulers to verify dimensions and product accuracy.
• Visually inspect parts and assemblies for defects, damage, or any issues that do not meet quality standards.
• Document inspection results, quality concerns, and nonconforming conditions accurately within quality records and ERP systems.
• Create and maintain Nonconforming Material Reports (NMRs) when defects or discrepancies are identified, ensuring issues are properly tracked and resolved.
• Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality teams to maintain compliance with company processes and quality requirements.
• Communicate supplier quality concerns and material discrepancies to appropriate stakeholders and support resolution efforts.
• Complete receiving inspection transactions and quality documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
• Assist with First Article Inspections (FAI) and other validation activities for new or revised products.
• Apply ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality system requirements in daily inspection and documentation activities.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying recurring quality issues and assisting with corrective and preventive actions.

Essential Skills

• At least three years of quality control inspection experience in a manufacturing or production environment with a Quality Management System structured per ISO 9001 and AS9100.
• Strong inspection process knowledge with the ability to use standard inspection tools such as rulers, calipers, gauges, and micrometers.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications accurately.
• Experience identifying, documenting, and reporting nonconformances within a quality management system that conforms to ISO 9001 and AS9100 requirements.
• Hands-on experience performing receiving, in-process, and final inspections of materials, piece parts, subassemblies, and assemblies.
• Proficiency in documenting inspection results and quality issues in ERP systems, manufacturing routers, and quality logs.
• Working understanding of first article inspection and general quality inspection practices.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, and MS Teams.
• Ability to use Adobe Acrobat Reader for reviewing and working with digital documents.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain stakeholders.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or technical certification in Quality, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing, or a related field.
• Working knowledge of AS9102 First Article Inspection requirements.
• Experience with or understanding of aerospace industry quality expectations and standards.

Work Environment

This role is based in a climate-controlled manufacturing environment focused on aerospace-grade quality standards. The position follows a first-shift schedule of 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Thursday, with work every other Friday, providing a predictable daytime workweek. You will regularly use precision measuring tools such as rulers, calipers, gauges, micrometers, and advanced inspection equipment like Keyence XM CMM, along with standard office software including Microsoft Office, SharePoint, MS Teams, and Adobe Acrobat Reader. The environment emphasizes organization, cleanliness, and adherence to 5S and Lean principles, with close collaboration between quality, engineering, and production teams.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Orlando, FL.

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.
