Supervisory Contract Specialist.

Duties Serve as a Supervisory Contract Specialist, supervising and directing functions that include administration and termination of contracts, pre‑solicitation activities, and contract awards. Act as a subject‑matter expert, providing technical guidance to assigned personnel in resolving difficult problems. Study organizational operations and enact changes in existing methods and procedures to reduce backlog and improve operating efficiency. Plan and assign work, supervise subordinates’ activities, and provide instructions on changes in public laws and contracting directives. Conditions of Employment Appointment is subject to a suitability or fitness determination after a background investigation. Must obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance for the duration of employment. Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time. Pre‑employment financial disclosure required, and annually thereafter per DoD Directive 5500‑7‑R. Position is supervisory per OPM GSSG; a one‑year probationary period will assess supervisory competence unless previously completed. Position is an acquisition role; incumbent must be a DoD or FAC‑C Certified Contracting Professional. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (or higher). One year of specialized experience as a Contracting Officer with authority of $25 million or greater, including directing or supporting formal source‑selection procedures. Experience interpreting and applying complex procurement regulations to resolve unprecedented issues or authorize deviations. Supervisory or team‑leadership experience in planning, assigning work, evaluating employee performance, and adjusting workflows to improve operating efficiency. Experience communicating with senior officials, industry executives, and cross‑functional teams to contract solutions that meet requirements and goals. Who May Apply U.S. citizens only.
