Middle School Chaplain Responsibilities:
- Plan and lead weekly chapel services for middle school students that is inclusive to all faiths.
- Design worship experiences that engages students.
- Facilitate planning for all-school chapels and additional worship opportunities for students.
- Teach two religion courses per semester for students.
- Foster inclusive learning environments where students of all faiths feel welcomed and heard.
- Collaborate with religion department staff to develop and refine curriculum for new and existing courses.
- Provide pastoral care and ongoing support to students, faculty, and staff.
- Work with religion department staff to coordinate Bible study opportunities for students.
- Plan meaningful service opportunities for students and families.
- Serve on both the middle school administration and chaplaincy team.
Middle School Chaplain Requirements:
- Master's degree in Divinity, Religious Studies, or related field required.
- Previous experience designing and leading worship services.
- Previous youth ministry experience preferred.
- No teaching license or credential is required.
- Strong interpersonal as well as written and verbal communication skills.
- Organized, dependable, and eager to contribute to the school community.
- Willingness to assist with school community activities.
Additional Desired Qualities:
- Previous independent school experience preferred, but not required.
