Job Purpose

This position uses analytical skills and professional accounting knowledge to work with purchasing and spec control in the creation of 6 budget events per year. Also, expected to use professional accounting standards to ensure appropriate reporting of actual financial data and use analytical skills to provide detailed budget to actual analysis.
The Sr Cost Accountant for Complete Built Unit (CBU) is responsible for calculating the total cost of parts, labor and overhead included in a finished product and calculating the price of the product. This role does not require much supervision and has a good bit of autonomy and has a direct financial impact on the financial statements of the company.

Key Accountabilities

• Performs monthly closing responsibilities related to sales and materials and presenting results to senior management.
• Performs sales and materials analysis for six budget events each year and presenting results to senior management.
• Use analytical skills and professional accounting knowledge to create sales breakdowns and profit analysis without supervision.
• Prepares parts and unit pricing quotes without supervision.
• Performs Analysis of material usage and sales price variances without supervision.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

• Minimum Educational Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with major in accounting or finance plus minimum 2 years experience, or associates degree with a minimum of 5 years experience in an accounting related job.
• Minimum Experience: 2-5 years with Bachelor's degree, 5 years minimum with Associate's degree.
• Other Job-Specific Skills:
  • Basic Accounting principles- GAAP/IFRS and Cost accounting background.
  • Strong understanding of accounting functions, terminology and ability to apply accounting concepts. • Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Understanding of Honda's accounting processes, preferably some Financial analyst experience.
  • Strong Microsoft product skills (Excel, Powerpoint, etc).
  • SAP Knowledge and skills

Working Conditions

• Office / Remote upto 20%.
• 5-10 hours of OT/week.
• Some travel .
