Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) Outpatient Urology

Location: Roanoke, Virginia Postal Drive Carilion Clinic is seeking a dedicated Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our outpatient Urology team at our Postal Drive location in Roanoke, Virginia. This is an excellent opportunity to practice in a collaborative, patient-focused environment while providing high-quality care to patients with a wide range of urologic conditions.

Position Summary The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will provide comprehensive evaluation and management of patients in the outpatient Urology clinic. The APP will see a combination of new and established patients and work closely with physicians and the multidisciplinary care team to develop individualized treatment plans for patients with urologic conditions.

Schedule

• Monday through Friday
• 8:00 a.m. 4:30 p.m.
• Outpatient clinic setting
• No hospital rounding required

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage new and established patients in the outpatient Urology clinic.
• Obtain comprehensive medical histories, perform physical examinations, and assess patient symptoms.
• Develop treatment recommendations and management plans for a variety of urologic conditions.
• Order, interpret, and communicate diagnostic testing and imaging results.
• Provide patient education regarding diagnoses, treatment options, medications, and follow-up care.
• Collaborate with urologists and other members of the healthcare team to deliver coordinated, high-quality patient care.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support Carilion Clinic's commitment to exceptional patient care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
• Current Virginia licensure (or eligibility for licensure).
• Current national certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
• DEA registration (or ability to obtain).
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Previous urology or surgical specialty experience is preferred but not required.
