Quality Engineer

We are seeking a Quality Engineer to support manufacturing operations within a union shop floor environment. This role is responsible for managing quality holds, reviewing nonconforming parts within required timelines, and driving Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations to resolve issues efficiently. The engineer will review and validate engineering technical data, standard work, and process plans to ensure accuracy and compliance before release to the shop floor.
This individual will also support First Article Inspections (FAI), oversee nonconformance processes, and partner closely with cross-functional teams (engineering, operations, and customer service) to drive process improvements, reduce recycles, and improve turnaround time. Success in this role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to operate effectively in a collaborative, non-hands-on union environment while supporting continuous improvement initiatives through data analysis and corrective action tracking.

Required Skills & Experience
- Strong technical background in manufacturing and quality systems
- Experience leading Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations
- Hands-on or direct shop floor/manufacturing support experience
- Experience reviewing and validating engineering technical data and documentation
- Experience managing nonconformance, quality holds, and driving timely disposition


Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification
- Auditor certification (ASQ, ISO, etc.)
- OEM manufacturing or aerospace/defense experience
- Experience working in a union manufacturing environment
- Experience with Power BI, Excel, or data analytics tools for quality tracking
