Service Center Representative

Location: East Neighborhood – Akers/Holmes/Hubbard Pay: 13.73/hour Note: Due to the minimum wage increase at MSU, the starting rate for this position will be $15 effective 8/9/26. Those hired prior to 8/9/26 will be brought to the new minimum. Typical Duties Provide routine clerical support within a residence hall reception area. Answer phones, process mail and packages, assist in maintaining records and accounts. Greet visitors and clients. Required Qualifications Enrolled as a student at Michigan State University during the academic year. Demonstrated commitment to outstanding customer service. Motivated self-starter able to complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision. Good communication skills (written and verbal). Positive and respectful, especially when working with a diverse population. Dependable and reliable. Must be available to work a minimum of 12 hours per week average including days, nights and weekends. Preferred Qualifications Prefer candidates to work for one full year in East Neighborhood. Preferred candidates are available to work during summer break. May have work available over semester breaks. Physical Demands Able to move up to 20-50 pounds. Ability to stand/sit for long periods of time. Work Hours Minimum hours per week: 12 hours average. Day Shifts: Monday–Friday, minimum of 2 shifts per week, 6:45am–12:00am (shifts 3‑4 hours, may be scheduled around class schedule). Saturday & Sunday Hours (every other weekend): 6:45am–12:00am, may have longer shifts. Overnight Shifts (required occasionally): Monday–Friday, minimum 1 shift per week, 11:45pm–7:00am. Saturday & Sunday Overnight: 11:45pm–7:00am every other weekend.
