Direct Counsel is seeking a Corporate Associate Attorney with M&A experience to join a top law firm’s Boston office. This role is ideal for an attorney with a strong foundation in mergers and acquisitions, private equity, and corporate transactions, looking to further develop their expertise within a leading firm. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting clients across a broad spectrum of complex transactions, working with a collaborative team while advancing towards partnership.

Their private equity practice spans fundraising, fund formation, direct investments, portfolio company management, acquisitions, and platform exits, representing a wide array of clients from global funds to family offices.

Responsibilities

The Corporate Associate will:

• Handle acquisitions, divestitures, mergers, joint ventures, private equity funds, and financial institution transactions.
• Provide high-quality legal services both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Integrate into a dynamic national corporate practice, supporting clients on complex, high-stakes transactions.
• Demonstrate a commitment to professional development aligned with an on-track partnership position.

Qualifications

• JD or LLM from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Admission (or eligibility for admission) in Massachusetts or New York.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in M&A and private equity transactional work.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• High level of professionalism in client interactions and teamwork.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
• Meticulous attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to work well in a team setting.

Compensation

The salary range for this role is $260,000 to $310,000, and the position is bonus eligible. The firm offers a comprehensive benefits package.
