Candidates must be comfortable with a nocturnal schedule and possess the ability to deliver exceptional patient care during nighttime hours. Local Team Collaboration We take pride in our well-established team at John Peter Smith of 37 physicians and five advanced practice providers (APPs), with the support of a clinical performance nurse and a practice manager. Qualifications Board-certified/eligible in family or internal medicine. We are open to 2026 graduates. Scheduling This is a full-time nocturnist role. Full-time positions follow a 7-nights-on, 7-nights-off rotation. We understand the importance of spending time with family and enjoying the outdoors. That’s why we offer a flexible schedule that allows for work-life balance. Our team covers for each other when anyone is out, ensuring that you can enjoy time off without worry. Key Responsibilities Focus on managing complex cases in a closed ICU environment with 24/7 intensivist coverage, without the expectation of performing procedures or running codes. The average census per nocturnist is 10-11 admits per night. You will have an APP taking the cross coverage call at night. EMR is EPIC. Rewards and Compensation 182.5 shifts a year Nocturnist's yearly base compensation is $313, 900. Eligible for both PPI and PQI bonuses. Full benefits, including a CME allowance, are available.
