Description:

Yuasa Battery is looking for a leader on 1st and 3rd shift to oversee our expanding boosting department. This position will ensure batteries for shipment are prepared within safety, quality, and production expectations.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Prepares the work area and assigns employees to workstations with the Supervisors direction.
• Familiar with all operations within the Boosting department and able to fill in all department positions when necessary.
• Learn and understand computer boosting profiles.
• Use and read volt meters.
• Responsible for incoming and outgoing product in the boosting area.
• Preps the boosting area by pulling appropriate components.
• Gives direction to the boosting employees.
• Leads workers in focusing on efficiency and preventing scrap.
• Performs on the job repairs to product components when necessary.
• Responsible for training the boosting employees on job responsibilities and ensuring the necessary training, such as specific EHS training, is completed prior to performing the tasks.
• Notifies Finishing /Warehouse Supervisor promptly of any boosting issues that they cannot resolve.
• Performs minor preventative maintenance work when necessary.
• Keeps department clean and organized.
• Keeps equipment operational by following machine instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions when possible and calling for repairs when necessary.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Responsible for posting production and scrap for their shift.
• Track boosting data per day 
• Reports any employee relations issues to the Finishing /Warehouse Supervisor.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Leads the Boosting team regarding manning and the schedule for the day.
• Trained in ArcFlash and applicable Powered Industrial Vehicles
• Other reporting and duties as assigned.

• Must be able to follow directions.
• Must be able to work the assigned schedule and in a self-directed work group.
• Must be able to read a Bill of Materials.
• Must be able to recognize operating issues quickly and be able to fix the issues in a short period of time.
• Must be able to work independently at a fast pace.
• Should be mechanically inclined.
• Should have good eye and hand coordination.
• Must be quality conscious.
• Must follow the environmental program and all safety rules.
• Must be consistently at work and on time.
• Must be able to work overtime on short notice.
• Able to work in a changing environment; must be able to promote suggestions to assist in the creation of an efficient workflow.
• Accountability for performance.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum 6 months experience working in manufacturing and/or distribution/warehouse

Essential Physical Requirements:

• Must be capable of lifting up to 50#.
• Must be able to stand and walk constantly during the shift
• Must be able to wear Arc Flash rubber gloves constantly during the shift
• Ability to work at elevated heights
