Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations and diagnoses for patients suffering from chronic pain, identifying those who may benefit from interventional pain management procedures.
• Develop and monitor comprehensive treatment plans that may include medication management, physical therapy recommendations, and referrals to other specialists as necessary.
• Prescribe appropriate medications consistent with therapeutic goals, ensuring patients and their families fully understand the treatment options and expected outcomes.
• Perform complete physical examinations and interpret laboratory findings and diagnostic imaging to formulate well-rounded diagnoses.
• Engage in continuous assessment of patients' health status, modifying treatment plans as required and consulting with supervising physicians when necessary.
• Document patient interactions accurately in electronic health records (EHRs), adhering to practice protocols for quality and compliance.
• Participate in clinical rounds and collaborate in case discussions with medical staff to optimize patient care and outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily involves working with a diverse group of patients experiencing chronic pain conditions, including those with musculoskeletal disorders, neuropathic pain, and post-surgical complications. The Physician Assistant will play a vital role in evaluating pain levels, understanding patient histories, and devising personalized treatment plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.
• Active licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant in New York.
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience working as a Physician Assistant, ideally in a pain management or similar setting.
• Strong understanding of pain management principles and musculoskeletal medicine.
• Demonstrated ability to utilize clinical judgement and technical skills to impact patient care positively.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in a surgical or interventional pain management setting is preferred.
• Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and other clinical software tools.
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to educate patients about their conditions and treatments effectively.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary range of $150,000 to $180,000 annually , dependent on experience and qualifications, along with opportunities for performance-based bonuses.
