About the Role

The Company is in need of a General Counsel to serve as its principal in-house legal advisor. The successful candidate will be a strategic partner, providing practical counsel on a wide range of legal matters, including transactions, fund and investment issues, governance, and regulatory and compliance concerns. This role is pivotal in supporting the firm's diverse activities, which encompass private equity, private credit, wealth advisory, real estate, and hedge funds. The General Counsel will also be responsible for overseeing commercial contracts and providing legal support for new business initiatives. Applicants for the General Counsel position at the company should have a J.D. from a top law school, a minimum of 5-10 years' of relevant corporate legal experience, and a strong background in areas such as private equity, private credit, investment funds, real estate, or M&A. The role requires excellent drafting and negotiation skills, the ability to manage multiple workstreams, and executive leadership presence. The ideal candidate will be adept at interacting with senior executives, clients, and key stakeholders, and will be expected to operate with discretion and sound judgment.
