Senior Staff Accountant

A growing real estate development and property management organization in the North Suburbs of Chicago is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to support accounting operations across corporate entities and operating real estate properties. This role will focus on general ledger maintenance, financial reporting, and assisting with the close process. Responsibilities Maintain and reconcile general ledgers for corporate and property-level entities Prepare journal entries, including accruals, amortization, and intercompany transactions Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules Reconcile bank accounts and monitor property-level cash activity Support accounts payable and receivable functions Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies Partner with property management and finance teams to resolve discrepancies Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and special projects as needed Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance 3+ years of accounting experience (real estate or property accounting preferred) Strong general ledger and financial reporting knowledge Experience with accounting software (e.g., Yardi, Sage Timberline, or similar) and Microsoft Office Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities Competitive benefits package including medical coverage, 401(k) with employer match, paid parental leave, and paid time off. #J-18808-Ljbffr Navigate Search
