Job Title: Cath Lab RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Cath Lab Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 4x10-Hour Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Cardiac Cath Lab License: RN state license Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - Able to sedate or circulate with left heart catheterization - Experience with STEMIs and PCI - Proficient in right heart catheterization and pericardiocentesis - Experience with temporary wires Description: The Cath Lab RN will work primarily during the day, with shifts scheduled from 06:30 to 17:00. The position requires a minimum of 2 years experience in a cardiac cath lab. First-time travelers are accepted. Responsibilities include sedation and circling procedures for left and right heart catheterizations. The RN must be competent in managing STEMIs and performing percutaneous coronary interventions. Candidates should have the ability to assist with the insertion of temporary wires and perform pericardiocentesis. Preferred skills include sedation and circulation experience with pacemakers, bi-V devices, and ICD implantable devices. The average daily census in the unit is between 4 to 8 patients. The RN will be required to work holidays and on-call shifts. On-call requirements include 3 shifts per week with a 30-minute callback time. Travelers will float within their specialty and to sister facilities as needed. Additional skills required include monitoring procedural sedation, understanding emergency medications, and knowledge of infection prevention protocols. Experience with end-tidal CO2 monitoring and activated clotting time is beneficial. Candidates should be familiar with the Epic charting system.
