Financial Controller

Confidential Search | $165,000-$180,000 Base + Up to 20% Bonus Steadfast Executive Search is representing a confidential, private-equity-backed organization in project-based services, specialty contracting, and recurring field operations seeking a hands-on Controller for multiple Pompano Beach operations. This highly visible role will lead an established accounting function, partner closely with operations and senior finance leadership, develop the team, improve processes, and strengthen reporting, controls, working capital, and systems readiness. The organization operates in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment and is seeking a leader who takes ownership, solves problems independently, and remains actively involved during month-end and reporting cycles. Highlights Base compensation of $165,000-$180,000 Annual performance bonus of up to 20% One remote workday per week available after a successful acclimation period Supported by a prominent private equity sponsor with a long-term growth strategy centered on acquisitions, operational improvement, and leadership advancement Direct access to supportive, accessible regional finance leadership with a strong track record of developing accounting professionals Leadership of a multi-functional accounting team across accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, project accounting, and general accounting Project-based environment requiring strong WIP, job-cost, and revenue-recognition experience Multi-system environment with a planned enterprise-wide ERP transitionFour-business-day close supported by established internal processes Comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid time off, company holidays, and employer-paid disability coverage Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required; Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline preferred CPA or MBA preferred but not required Minimum of five years of progressive accounting leadership experience Current or recent experience at the Controller, Assistant Controller, Director of Accounting, or comparable level Experience leading accounting teams across multiple locations or business units Strong experience in project-based services, construction, installation, specialty contracting, or field-service environments Deep understanding of WIP, job costing, project accounting, and percent-of-completion revenue recognition Strong ERP and advanced Excel capabilities Experience supporting system implementations, migrations, integrations, or process transformation is highly valued ComputerEase experience is a strong plus SAP experience is preferred but not required Hands-on leadership style with the ability to remain close to the details Strong communication skills and the ability to partner effectively with operational leaders Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
