Registered Nurse Oncology | Andover, Kansas

A Medical/Surgical Oncology nursing opportunity is open for a dedicated RN skilled in caring for complex patients in a dynamic environment. This position involves working as part of a cohesive team focused on providing high-quality oncology care within a 24-bed unit. Schedule:

• 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Qualifications:

• Active RN license with proven medical/surgical nursing experience
• Strong assessment and patient care skills
• Chemo certification preferred
• ACLS certification preferred
• Experience using Meditech EMR is beneficial
• Ability to collaborate in a strong teamwork setting
• Positive attitude and adaptability; eager to offer and receive support

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide and oversee direct care for oncology and remote telemetry patients, utilizing a primary nursing care model
• Monitor, assess, and document changes in patients using Meditech
• Administer standard med/surg care and chemotherapy (if certified)
• Perform vital signs checks per unit protocol (q8h, or q4h for remote tele patients)
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment, responding promptly to patient needs
• Communicate efficiently with providers and multidisciplinary team members using iPhone-based systems for enhanced care coordination
• Contribute ideas and feedback for continuous improvement as part of a Magnet-recognized facility
