About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper with CPA firm experience to join a growing accounting team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional who has managed bookkeeping for multiple clients and has hands-on experience with month-end close, payroll tax, sales tax, and business compliance filings. The successful candidate will work with a diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring accurate financial records, timely reporting, and compliance with federal, state, and local filing requirements. Key Responsibilities- Perform full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple business clients.
- Prepare and maintain accurate general ledger accounts.
- Complete monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities.
- Reconcile bank, credit card, and balance sheet accounts.
- Prepare and file sales tax returns.
- Process and file payroll tax reports.
- Assist with city business license renewals and compliance filings.
- Prepare and manage property tax filings.
- Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable records.
- Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Communicate with clients to obtain necessary financial information and resolve accounting issues.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Support CPAs with financial reporting and year-end tax preparation.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 3+ years of bookkeeping experience , preferably within a CPA or public accounting firm .
- Strong experience managing bookkeeping for multiple clients.
- Hands-on experience with month-end and year-end close processes.
- Experience preparing sales tax, payroll tax, property tax, and business license filings.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and bookkeeping best practices.
- Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar platforms .
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple client accounts and meet deadlines.
- Experience working in a public accounting or CPA firm.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax compliance requirements.
- Experience handling bookkeeping for clients across multiple industries.
- Ability to work independently while managing competing priorities.
