Preferred qualifications: Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms. 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction. 3 years of experience working in an organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects. Expertise in large systems indexing, serving, performance tuning and with automation systems and related infrastructure. The system is constantly evolving to support numerous launches, and provides APIs, testing frameworks and tools/processes to allow high developer productivity and operational excellence. As Search is pivoting towards AI first experiences through AI Overview and AI Mode, the current focus is to evolve the Ads Serving stack and prepare it for next-gen AI/LLM capabilities. Responsibilities Play a leading role in a highly reliable infrastructure that's responsible for business growth. Collaborate across Ads teams to understand client teams' needs, identify opportunities, and deliver impact. Identify performance optimization opportunities and deliver latency/resource savings. Build automation systems and related tools to operate this large and critical system at scale.
