Assistant Athletic Director

The Assistant Athletic Director will work with the Athletic Director to promote education-based athletics and the successful implementation and management of Washington High School Athletic Programs.

Educational Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree (Preferred). Certification/Preferred Licensure: Valid Indiana Teacher's License (Preferred). Or Experience: 2 or more years of teaching and/or coaching experience or working in a high school athletic leadership capacity (Preferred). Knowledge: Working knowledge of HS athletic programs, scheduling process, IHSAA/NFHS rules and regulations

Essential Responsibilities: Be an appropriate role model for student-athletes, coaches and the WHS community. Assist the AD in creating schedules and securing contracts for all home and away Events. Provide administrative supervision at home and selected away athletic events. Assists with the hiring of officials for all events. Assists in arranging transportation for athletic teams. Helps to uphold and enforce the Code of Conduct and other policies. Knowledge of IHSAA By-laws and active engagement in the IIAAA and NIAAA. Flexibility to work a non-traditional schedule including evenings and weekends hours. Travel is required. Assists with advertising and fundraising initiatives within the athletic department. Assists with the hiring of coaches and athletic department staff. Ability to work in a team environment and should have excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills. Assists in the inventory of uniforms, supplies, and equipment. Helps to maintain coach certification as well as student-athlete physicals and eligibility. Assists in securing event workers for all home athletic events. Helps to ensure that all practice and game facilities are in event-ready condition. Helps to promote the athletic department via website and social media platforms. Performs other reasonably related duties as assigned by Athletic Director or Principal.
