An Ellis Park Bartender is an integral part of the Ellis Park team responsible for taking food and drink orders from guests, as well as mixing and serving a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks in a friendly and courteous manner, while simultaneously ensuring that guests are not overserved so that everyone can have a fun and safe gaming experience at Ellis Park!What's in it for you:Full-time and part-time employment opportunities available.This position is tip eligible meaning you leave with money in hand after every shift.Competitive benefits including 401k match, tuition reimbursement and an employee stock purchase plan.Ellis Park offers a generous PTO policy based on the hours you work, the more hours you work the more PTO you earn!As a member of the Churchill Downs family you will be eligible for savings on a variety of purchases from electronics and appliances to apparel, cars, flowers, fitness memberships, gift cards, groceries, hotels, movie tickets, rental cars, special events, theme parks and more through our Savings Marketplace.Opportunities for advancement!Some details of what you will do:Take beverage and food orders from patrons in a friendly and courteous manner.Mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including wine and bottled/draft beer.Promote brands/products to increase sales, including promotional drinks and drink specials.Maintain a cash drawer and complete transactions using a point-of-sale system.Maintain cleanliness and appearance of bar/workstation by arranging bottles and glasses to make attractive displays, sweep, wipe counter/table tops, sink areas, remove trash, mop, etc.Restock alcoholic/non-alcoholic beverages, cut/slice and replenish garnishes, refill ice wells, replace kegs, refill paper products, glassware, and condiments.Assist with inventory and inventory control.What you need:Relevant work experience, including strong knowledge, ability, and skill in mixing a variety of alcoholic beverages.Basic math and cash handling skills.Available to work when needed, including weekends, holidays, and nights.Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Kentucky gaming/racing license.Education and experience:High School Diploma or GED.
