Job Summary The following challenges await you: The primary responsibility of this position is to maintain a safe and productive workplace by maintaining and/or improving the building’s structure, facility equipment and systems and process equipment, conducting regular inspections to identify potential hazards, ensuring compliance with local and federal regulations, and ensuring that the facility is equipped with necessary safety equipment and staff is trained on its proper use. Installs, maintains, and repairs electrical systems, electronic components, equipment, motors, appliances, and wiring for a building or facility, ensuring safety and operational integrity; installs, maintains, and troubleshoots Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems and related electronics. Coordinates and oversees activities conducted by contractors (project management). Performs preventive maintenance to maintain a minimal to zero level of process downtime due to facility or maintenance causes, ensuring production equipment runs smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate; inspects, operates, or tests machinery or equipment to diagnose malfunctions. Diagnoses mechanical problems and determines how to correct them by checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs; assembles, installs, pipes systems, plumbing, machinery, or equipment. Inspects drives, motors, and belts, checks fluid levels, replaces filters, cleans or lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, or other parts of machinery, and adjusts functional parts of devices or control instruments using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, or straightedges; follows checklists. Records type and cost of maintenance or repair work; identifies capital projects and provides expected cost and timelines for completion of projects. Available on call to address building emergencies. Qualifications A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent and five years of experience in a role supporting a manufacturing environment is required. A diploma from a technical or trade school is required; must have experience and certification with electrical and at least one of the following trades: plumbing, mechanical, controls, and general construction. Must be able to understand contracts and systems manuals, read blueprints, and develop CAD drawings. Interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate in a professional manner are required. Teamwork skills, the ability to multitask, and the ability to troubleshoot and solve problems are required.
