Senior Business Systems Engineer, AI Capability Lead - MHI
AbbVie
Senior Business Systems Engineer providing technology leadership and AI strategy for Medical Affairs and Health Impact business units. Translates business needs into scalable AI solutions, maintains the integrated AI technology roadmap, and coordinates across enterprise platforms, architects, and development teams.
Responsibilities
- Engage business stakeholders and technical teams to understand drivers, system needs, and AI opportunities
- Own and maintain the integrated MHI AI technology roadmap, aligning with priorities and broader enterprise strategies
- Shape scalable AI solutions by evaluating build, buy, reuse, and platform options with architects and compliance teams
- Serve as primary MHI interface with IR development teams, enterprise architects, and platform teams for AI initiatives
- Provide technology guidance on AI appropriateness, feasibility assessments, and alignment with enterprise standards and responsible AI expectations
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with 8 years relevant IT experience, or Master's with 7 years, or PhD with 3 years
- Experience in business systems engineering, technology capability leadership, or enterprise platform solution delivery
- Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment in solution shaping, feasibility assessment, and risk identification
- Working knowledge of generative AI, LLMs, machine learning, RAG, prompt engineering, responsible AI, and enterprise AI platforms
- Ability to translate complex business problems into technology capabilities and functional requirements
- Proven effectiveness collaborating with enterprise architects, development teams, platform owners, and senior technical stakeholders
