Director of Finance And Accounting

The Opportunity Our client is seeking an experienced Controller/Director of Finance to serve as the right hand to the CEO. This is a highly visible, hands‑on role responsible for leading nearly every aspect of the accounting and finance function. The ideal candidate enjoys rolling up their sleeves, improving processes, and partnering closely with leadership rather than simply managing a large team. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a lean organization where everyone contributes and who is looking for a long‑term home with a growing company. Key Responsibilities Lead day-to-day accounting and finance operations Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes Prepare accurate financial statements and management reporting packages Develop budgets, forecasts, cash flow projections, and financial models Analyze financial performance and provide recommendations to leadership Maintain the general ledger and ensure compliance with accounting standards Manage banking relationships, cash management, and treasury activities Oversee internal controls and continuously improve financial processes Partner with operations to improve financial visibility and business performance Support external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory reporting Leverage advanced Excel reporting and analysis to drive decision‑making Help scale the finance function as the organization continues to grow What We’re Looking For Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience Prior Controller, Assistant Controller, Director of Finance, or similar leadership experience Strong foundation in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Experience working within manufacturing, industrial, construction, or distribution environments strongly preferred Ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a lean organization Strong business acumen, analytical thinking, and problem‑solving abilities Excellent communication skills with the ability to partner across the organization Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will be: A hands‑on finance leader who enjoys being involved in the details Comfortable wearing multiple hats in a lean organization Entrepreneurial, resourceful, and proactive Someone who enjoys building processes rather than inheriting them Looking for a long‑term opportunity with a stable, growing company A collaborative partner who can earn the trust of ownership and leadership MMD Services Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
