Certified Medical Assistant - Rheumatology Work Arrangement: Regular Requisition Number: 269923 Location: Durham, NC, US 27710 Date: Jul 10, 2026 Job Location: Medicine Specialties of South Durham - 234 Crooked Creek Pkwy Job Summary: We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant in our Medicine Specialties of South Durham – Rheumatology located in Durham, NC to be an integral member of the healthcare team to provide direct and indirect care to patients. Job Duties and Responsibilities Assist Medical and Nursing Staff in a variety of tasks including: Taking medical histories and recording vital signs, Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician Telephone prescriptions to a pharmacy Perform other clinical functions as delegated and supervised by the physician Collect and prepare laboratory specimens Explaining treatment procedures to patients Preparing patients for examinations and procedures Job Eligibility Requirements Graduation from a medical assistant program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) strongly preferred. High school or GED graduation required. Level I -- No experience required. Level II -- 1 year of clinical experience as a Medical Assistant, Certified in a clinical setting. Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA or ARMA required. BLS required. Job Hours The schedule for this position would be day shifts Monday to Friday.
