Local Contract Nurse RN - PCU - Progressive Care Unit - $57-59 per hour

Position Overview WCS Healthcare Partners is seeking a local contract RN for a Stepdown (Progressive Care Unit) at a prestigious hospital in New York City. The role is a 13‑week contract, 36 hours per week, with 12‑hour day and night shifts (3x12 schedule). Responsibilities Monitor and assess patients’ conditions, recognizing early signs of deterioration and escalating appropriately. Administer medications, treatments, and interventions in accordance with physician orders and nursing standards. Provide direct patient care including post‑surgical management, cardiac/telemetry monitoring, and ventilator/trach support as needed. Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary teams and families to develop and implement individualized care plans. Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR). Requirements Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing or hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN). Current RN license for the state of New York. Minimum 2 years of acute ICU/MICU RN experience. BLS & ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association. EPIC experience highly preferred.
