Medical Assistant (Scheduling & Member Outreach)

Our partner is looking for a Medical Assistant (Scheduling & Member Outreach) based in the United States. This remote role supports population health and care coordination programs by helping members access important preventive and primary care services. You’ll engage members by phone, explain available healthcare benefits, and schedule appointments such as Annual Wellness Visits and preventive screenings. The position combines healthcare knowledge, patient engagement, appointment coordination, and accurate documentation. You’ll work closely with provider offices and internal teams to secure appointment availability and support care gap closure. Strong communication and organization are essential in this call-center environment, where quality, productivity, and compliance are closely monitored. The role offers an opportunity to contribute directly to better healthcare access and member outcomes. Accountabilities: - Conduct outbound calls to members to schedule Annual Wellness Visits, preventive screenings, primary care consultations, and other appropriate healthcare appointments. - Educate members about available healthcare benefits, preventive services, care opportunities, and the importance of completing recommended visits. - Schedule, reschedule, and confirm appointments accurately using designated scheduling systems. - Follow up with members regarding missed appointments, callback requests, and outstanding scheduling needs. - Respond to inbound inquiries related to appointments, healthcare programs, and member outreach activities. - Review member eligibility and appointment requirements before coordinating services. - Help members understand Annual Wellness Visits, preventive screenings, and care gap closure opportunities. - Coordinate with provider offices and internal teams to identify appointment availability and facilitate successful scheduling. - Escalate clinical concerns or issues requiring professional medical judgment to the appropriate healthcare team member. - Maintain accurate member records and document call outcomes, interactions, and follow-up activities in EMR and CRM systems. - Protect sensitive member information and consistently follow HIPAA, confidentiality, quality, productivity, and compliance requirements.

- Work toward established performance measures, including appointment scheduling, contact and conversion rates, quality scores, attendance, adherence, and documentation accuracy. Requirements - High school diploma or GED required. - Medical Assistant certification such as CMA, RMA, or CCMA is preferred. - At least 1 year of experience in healthcare, care coordination, patient scheduling, or call center operations. - Basic understanding of medical terminology and healthcare processes. - Strong verbal communication and patient/member engagement skills, with the ability to explain healthcare information clearly and professionally. - Customer service skills and the ability to build rapport with members over the phone. - Experience with appointment scheduling, patient outreach, or healthcare coordination is valuable. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office and healthcare-related systems, including EMR or CRM platforms. - Strong data entry and documentation skills with attention to accuracy and confidentiality. - Good problem-solving, time-management, organization, and follow-up abilities. - Ability to work effectively in a performance-driven remote call-center environment. - Experience working with Medicare Advantage members, population health programs, preventive care, or healthcare benefits is preferred. - Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills are preferred.
