Lead Catering ServerCold Spring Harbor Laboratory, a world-renowned scientific research organization located on the North Shore of Long Island, is hiring candidates to fill the seasonal position of Lead Catering Server in the Culinary Services department. Qualified candidates will serve food and beverages for meetings, courses, and administrative, and communications-related events.Position ResponsibilitiesSetting up dining room(s) and outdoor events with required linen, tableware, and dishwareAnticipating guest needs and monitoring their dining experience to ensure satisfaction with the meal and serviceServing and clearing food and beverages in a sanitary mannerProviding service in a courteous and polite mannerEnsuring that all cleaning duties are accomplished for each eventMaintaining a professional and personable appearanceArriving promptly for all scheduled shiftsPosition RequirementsEducation: High School diploma or equivalent is preferred. Experience: Some catering experience is preferred. The ability to speak Spanish is a plus. Physical: Must be able to stand for long periods of time, bend, stretch, and lift items such as boxes and trays of food or drinks.
