Overview About the Position: This position is located at Brooke Army Medical Center at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC) is the United States Army's premier medical institution. It is a 425‑bed academic medical center, the Department of Defense's largest facility and only Level 1 trauma center. BAMC is also home to the Center for the Intrepid, an outpatient rehabilitation facility. Responsibilities Position patients for diagnostic imaging examinations. Determine when maintenance or repair is needed of X‑ray equipment. Develop and process radiologic film. Schedule patients for radiology appointments using a computerized scheduling system. Prepare contrast material or antispasmodic drugs under the direction of a Radiologist. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Basic requirements: Successfully completed an educational program that meets or exceeds the standards accredited by an organization recognized by the Department of Education. Certified as a radiographer. Who may apply: U.S. Citizens. In order to qualify, applicants must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Additional qualifications: One year of specialized experience performing radiographic procedures or examinations, maintaining/troubleshooting equipment, or preparing/administering contrast materials (equivalent to a GS‑06 position). One full year of graduate level education in a field directly related to the work of the position, such as diagnostic radiology or radiography. A combination of education and experience where the computed percentage of requirements is at least 100% (divide total months of experience by 12, add the percentage of completed graduate semester hours divided by 18; the total must be ≥ 100%). Foreign education: If using foreign education to meet the qualification requirements, credentials must be evaluated by a private organization specializing in interpretation of foreign education programs and deemed equivalent to a U.S. program, or full credit must be granted for courses at a U.S. accredited college or university. #J-18808-Ljbffr Defense Health Agency
