Title On‑site Home Visitor, LCSW/LMFT / RN/BSN Location Fort Lee, Virginia Salary Minimum: $58,440; Maximum: $93,500 Responsibilities Provide support to all eligible families with expectant parents and parents of children from birth to 3 years of age. Offer activities and services including information and referrals, parenting programs, respite care, and supervised playtime for children. Deliver more intensive support to families at risk for child maltreatment and/or family violence. Maintain timely and confidential services for families identified as at risk. Protect the privacy and confidentiality of client information. Identify and report suspected child abuse, neglect, and domestic abuse. Assess developmental milestones and refer for special needs or developmental delays. Strengthen adaptation to parenthood and parental capacity for problem‑solving, building trusting relationships, and seeking help. Promote developmentally appropriate parenting skills, disciplinary techniques, and parent‑child communication. Facilitate informal and formal community networks to build positive relationships and reduce social isolation. Develop relationships with local community, military installation officials, and organizations to maximize program effectiveness. Utilize community‑based services and networks to provide concrete support for families in crisis. Screen, assess, and address protective and risk factors associated with child abuse and neglect using a strengths‑based, family‑centered developmental approach. Keep the tracking system updated with case status. Participate in monthly conference calls and annual training events. Qualifications and Requirements Minimum of two (2) years of direct work experience in child abuse or domestic abuse, maternal or child health, medical social work, public/community health, or mental health. Current and active license as an LCSW, LMFT, or RN. For LCSW: current, valid, unrestricted clinical license and a master’s degree in Social Work. For RN: bachelor’s degree in nursing, current unrestricted state or territorial license, and at least two (2) years of direct work experience with child abuse or domestic abuse, maternal or child health, public/community health, or mental health. Home visitation experience. Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and ability to operate a motor vehicle. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Ability to use general office equipment (computer, phones, other devices). Strong communication skills for in‑person and telephone interactions. Ability to work under time pressure and meet deadlines. Willingness to travel as needed and adhere to AFSC travel policies and procedures. Ability to enter private homes that may not provide easy access for individuals with physical disabilities or those recovering from rehabilitation. Capability to transport oneself from office locations to private homes, other offices, and facilities for training and program activities.
