Lead Engineering Project Manager

Job Title: Senior Project EngineerLocation: Newport News, VASalary: $100-130K plus bonusJob Summary of the Senior Project Engineer: The Senior Project Engineer will manage a team on medium to large projects or oversee a critical part of a complex initiative; you will be essential in achieving success. You have the autonomy to make significant decisions independently and will collaborate with senior executives to tackle challenges, ensuring precise project execution.Duties & Responsibilities:· Create engineering designs, material specs, and cost estimates for projects.· Conduct research and feasibility studies to support design decisions. · Ensure designs meet standards and codes, verify field work, and create as-built drawings.· Review engineering submissions for accuracy, coordinate project activities, and collaborate with management to implement plans.· Oversee layout planning and utility requirements with vendors and contractors.· Review consultant work, maintain documentation, and suggest improvements as needed.· Plan and review projects, define scope, prepare proposals, and evaluate bids.· Provide regular status reports to management, oversee installations to ensure compliance with specs and timelines.· Monitor project budgets to meet financial goals.Education & Experience Requirements:· Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Engineering Management, or related field with 5+ years experience; or equivalent combination, required.· Experience with food processing engineering principles and techniques preferred.· Proficiency in engineering economics is required.· Experience in managing multi-million-dollar projects with large scopes is desirable.· Proficient in AutoCAD and national codes and standards interpretation.· Requires travel to other locations for collaboration (50% of time).· Strong communication, teamwork, analytical, and organizational skills required.
