Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for elderly clients to identify their specific needs and tailor care plans accordingly.

• Provide individual counseling sessions as well as lead group therapy to help clients navigate emotional challenges associated with aging.

• Collaborate closely with healthcare teams, including social workers, physicians, and nursing staff, to create and implement comprehensive care plans that address both physical and mental health needs.

• Educate staff and family members on best practices and strategies for enhancing the emotional well-being and quality of life of elderly individuals.

• Facilitate grief and loss counseling for residents and their families who are experiencing end-of-life issues, providing support during these challenging times.

• Develop and implement cognitive stimulation programs that encourage mental acuity among elderly clients, incorporating therapeutic activities designed to engage them cognitively.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on senior clients who may be dealing with various mental health challenges, including depression, anxiety, grief, and adjustment disorders. By fostering a safe and supportive therapeutic environment, you will empower these individuals to express their feelings, process their experiences, and develop effective coping strategies.

Qualifications\n

• A master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution is required.

• Must possess a valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential.

• Additional training or certification in geriatric mental health and aging-related issues is preferred.

• A strong foundation in therapeutic modalities appropriate for senior care, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and solutions-focused therapy.

Compensation and Benefits\n
