The Together & Strong Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) specializing in geriatric mental health. This full-time, remote position allows you to provide care and counseling services to elderly individuals facing a variety of emotional and mental health challenges. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for elderly clients to accurately identify their unique emotional and psychological needs.

• Provide individual and group counseling sessions, aimed at addressing the emotional challenges associated with aging, such as loss and major lifestyle changes.

• Collaborate effectively with healthcare teams, including physicians, nurses, and social workers, to develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to the needs of our geriatric clients.

• Educate family members and healthcare staff on best practices for enhancing the emotional well-being and quality of life of our elderly residents.
\n
• Facilitate grief and loss counseling sessions for clients and their families, providing support during difficult transitions related to end-of-life issues.

• Design and implement cognitive stimulation programs aimed at preserving mental acuity and promoting engagement among elderly individuals.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will primarily serve senior clients, addressing their mental health needs related to aging, which may include anxiety, depression, grief, and adjustment disorders. Your role is pivotal in improving their overall well-being and aiding in their adaptation to changing life circumstances. The unique nature of our patient population requires a sensitivity to the diverse backgrounds and experiences of each individual.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.

• A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential.

• Additional training or specialization in geriatric mental health and aging-related issues is strongly preferred.

Compensation and Benefits\n
