Oral Surgery Assistant — 26 to 30 hr — Mount Laurel, NJ
Union Mill Oral Surgery & Dental Implant Center 

FULL-TIME POSITION


Pay: 26 to 30 hr depending on experience, certifications and benefits needed 

What makes this job different

If you're currently assisting in general dentistry, this is a step up in skill, not just a change of address.

You'll be chairside for implant placement, bone grafting, extractions, and IV sedation cases. You'll learn to set up and monitor sedation, handle implant components and surgical instrumentation, and read a case from consult to delivery. These are the skills that make an assistant hard to replace.

We're a three-year-old, doctor-owned practice — not a DSO. Decisions get made in the building, by the person you work next to. We're growing, which means the person who joins now grows into a lead role as we add chairs and staff.

The assistant we're replacing is leaving to advance her education in December so we are hiring now. 

What you'd do

• Assist chairside during extractions, implant placement, grafting, and sedation cases
• Set up, monitor, and recover sedation patients alongside the doctor
• Take vitals, record medical histories, and take radiographs
• Prep and sterilize instruments; maintain surgical setups
• Walk patients through their post-op instructions
• Order clinical supplies and implant components 
• Learn all clinical equipment ( 3 D printer, Cone Beam Cat Scan, Photogrammetry ETC..)

What you need

Required:

• Dental assisting experience (any specialty)
• Current BLS/CPR certification
• New Jersey Dental Radiologic Technologist license
• Pass drug & background check Nice to have, not required:
  
  
• Oral Surgery or sedation experience
• DAANCE certification or expanded functions 

We'll train the right person on the surgical side. What we can't train is showing up on time, staying calm when a patient is anxious, and caring whether the room is set up right.
