TMH is the region's healthcare leader and top provider of advanced care with a 772-bed acute care hospital and the region's only:Level II Trauma CenterPrimary Stroke CenterLevel III Neonatal Intensive CarePediatric Intensive CareThe most advanced cancer, heart and vascular, orthopedic & surgery programs in the Panhandle.Our system also includes a psychiatric hospital, multiple specialty care centers, six residency programs and more than 50 affiliated physician practices.How You'll Make An ImpactPerforms phlebotomy on all age and acuity levels using established procedures and safety devices; ensure accurate specimen identification and integrity; responsible for assuring that all aliquoting and separation is done with precision and accuracy on a timely basis; must have an understanding of specimen requirements and be able to determine appropriateness of specimens received; responsible for reporting of patient results to the appropriate client by charting, telephone, fax, modem or computer; responsible for assuring accurate input of patient demographics and insurance information.Behavioral Criteria: Responsible for daily billing operations, responsible for sending specimens to and receiving results from reference laboratories, professionally answers phones, provides reception and general clerical duties for the laboratory; performs routine centrifuge maintenance and inventory of supplies, provides assistance and information to outreach locations; assists Section Head and other Laboratory staff as needed.Reports:Med Lab Section Head, Phlebotomist/Lead, and Senior Med Tech.Supervises:NoneWhat You'll Need To ApplyRequired Education:High School graduate or equivalentRequired Experience:No training or experience required. One (1) year of job-related experience (including phlebotomy) preferredRequired Certification/License/Registry:Incumbent operates a TMH vehicle and requires a valid state driver license. Required to be at least twenty-one (21) years of age and with a minimum of two (2) years of licensed driving experience. Required to provide a seven (7)- year driving record from the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) prior to employment.
