Senior Associate / Counsel - Middle Market M&A

Our client, a well-established 120‑attorney New York law firm, is seeking a Senior Associate or Counsel-level Corporate Attorney with significant middle‑market M&A experience to join their Corporate/M&A practice - one of the firm's largest and most active groups. This is an open-ended contract engagement covering overlapping parental leaves and an extended vacation, with strong potential for additional coverage. Responsibilities Advise private companies, founders, family‑owned businesses, and private equity firms on middle‑market mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and other strategic transactions Lead all phases of M&A transactions, including due diligence, drafting and negotiating purchase agreements and ancillary documents, deal structuring, and closing coordination Provide practical legal and business advice throughout the transaction lifecycle Collaborate with internal teams, opposing counsel, lenders, accountants, and other advisors to drive successful outcomes Represent both buyers and sellers on sophisticated middle‑market transactions Qualifications Significant middle‑market M&A experience (roughly 7-20+ years; Senior Associate or Counsel level) Ability to independently handle sophisticated corporate transactions Comfortable advising private companies, founders, family‑owned businesses, and private equity clients Strong drafting, negotiation, and client‑facing communication skills Ability to work onsite 2-3 days per week #J-18808-Ljbffr Mission Staffing
