Assistant Project Scientist - Maureen Su Lab

Position Overview UCLA's Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Molecular Genetics (MIMG) is seeking to fill a full‑time Assistant Project Scientist position in the Maureen Su lab. The candidate will perform independent research on Aire‑mediated autoimmunity, autoimmune peripheral neuropathy, and CNS (central nervous system) autoimmunity. The position is a 12‑month non‑Senate position. Responsibilities Conduct research on the pathogenesis of Aire‑mediated autoimmunity. Conduct research on the pathogenesis of autoimmune peripheral neuropathy and CNS autoimmunity. Carry out in vivo experiments on the effects of immunomodulation on autoimmune pathogenesis. Perform computational analyses of single‑cell RNA‑seq, ATAC‑seq, and bulk RNA‑seq datasets, including published datasets and those generated by the group. Work with graduate students and other members of the lab to use mouse models to understand autoimmunity. Perform cellular phenotyping by flow cytometry, nerve conduction studies, behavioral assessments, and histological evaluation of affected mice. Assist with preparation of grant proposals. Prepare manuscripts for publication in scientific journals. Minimum Qualifications Ph.D. (or equivalent) in physiology or immunology. 5 years of post‑doctoral research experience.
