The TL;DR Role: Early Career Location: In-person Los Angeles Ocean Branch Mission: To build a strong operational foundation in international freight forwarding and global supply chains, enabling participants to develop into trusted advisors for customers and future leaders within the Mainfreight organization by mastering sales, customer relationship management, and business development. What You’ll Actually Do Learn Operations: Learn the fundamental principles of ocean freight operations and global supply chains, working closely with operations teams to understand the mechanics of international freight movement. Assist Customers: Assist with comprehensive customer communications and account support, participating in customer visits and business development activities as knowledge and confidence grow. Develop Sales Skills: Develop consultative selling skills and strategic customer relationship management, researching prospective customers and identifying growth opportunities to build a robust sales pipeline. Build Professional Networks: Build and nurture relationships with critical carriers, vendors, and customers, attending sales training, branch meetings, and development sessions to expand professional connections. Prepare Solutions: Learn how to prepare accurate freight quotations and comprehensive transportation solutions, supporting branch growth initiatives and special projects to contribute to overall profitability. The Must-Haves Background: Bachelor’s degree in any field, qualifying individuals as recent graduates or early-career professionals. Experience: 0-2 years of professional experience. Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, an innate ability to build relationships and connect with diverse individuals, strong organizational and time-management skills, and a positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
