Power BI Developer

Power Bi DeveloperWe are looking for a PowerBI specialist skilled at building custom PowerBI Dashboards. This project will involve migrating a dashboard which currently lives in excel to PowerBI, while making enhancements to optimize usability of the tool. Must have experience building PowerBI dashboards and strong understanding of data visualization principles.Key Responsibilities will include:Requirements Gathering: Collaborating closely with key stakeholders to understand existing Excel dashboard functionalities, identify current pain points, and define new requirements for enhanced data visualization and user experience within Power BI.Data Source Integration: Connecting Power BI to data source, ensuring data integrity and efficient loading.Dashboard Design & Development: Designing, developing, and implementing a visually appealing, interactive, and user-friendly Power BI dashboard and reports that effectively communicate key performance indicators (KPIs) and insights. Focus on creating an intuitive user experience that makes data easily accessible and understandable.Testing & Validation: Rigorously testing and validating the accuracy and integrity of data and calculations within the Power BI solution against the source Excel dashboard and business requirements.Documentation: Providing clear and concise documentation of data sources, data models, DAX calculations, and dashboard logic to ensure maintainability and knowledge transfer.Required Skills & Experience:Proven experience as a Power BI Developer, or similar role with a strong portfolio of Power BI projects.Expert-level proficiency in Power BI Desktop, including:Advanced DAX formula writing and optimization.Strong Power Query (M language) skills for complex data transformation.Deep understanding of data modeling principles for Power BI (star schema, snowflake schema).Demonstrable experience in migrating existing reports or dashboards from other platforms (like Excel) to Power BI.Exceptional understanding of data visualization best practices and principles, with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively gather requirements from stakeholders and present findings.Ability to work independently and manage project timelines effectively as a freelance consultant.This is a high PRIORITY requisition.
