We are a Newport Beach-based general contractor seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee commercial construction projects, with a primary focus on tenant improvements ranging from $50,000 to $2 million. This is an office-based position in Newport Beach that includes weekly travel to Los Angeles for project and client meetings; all other work is performed on-site at our Newport Beach office.

The ideal candidate is a self-directed professional who can manage multiple projects simultaneously, keep budgets and schedules on track, and serve as the central point of coordination between clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.

Project Manager - Commercial Construction (Tenant Improvements)

Location: Newport Beach, CA (in-office) with weekly travel to Los Angeles

Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Compensation: $100,000 - $120,000 base salary, plus bonus

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage commercial tenant improvement projects from preconstruction through closeout, ranging from $50,000 to $2 million in value.
• Develop, monitor, and maintain project budgets, schedules, and scopes of work.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Prepare and manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and subcontractor agreements.
• Oversee procurement, buyout, and cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate and lead project meetings, including weekly meetings in Los Angeles.
• Track project progress, identify risks early, and implement solutions to keep work on schedule and on budget.
• Ensure all work is completed in compliance with plans, specifications, building codes, and safety standards.
• Manage project documentation and reporting within Procore.
• Collaborate with field superintendents to ensure quality control and timely delivery.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in commercial construction, with tenant improvement experience strongly preferred.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently within the $50,000-$2 million range.
• Proficiency with Procore is required.
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, contracts, budgets, and scheduling.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to travel weekly to Los Angeles for meetings.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
