Responsibilities:

• Psychiatric Evaluations: Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments, psychiatric evaluations, and risk assessments for adolescent and adult patients.
• Medication Management: Formulate evidence-based treatment plans, prescribe psychotropic medications, and monitor therapeutic efficacy, compliance, and side effects.
• Crisis Intervention: Provide immediate triage, de-escalation, and stabilization for patients presenting with acute psychiatric distress or behavioral emergencies.
• Integrated Care Coordination: Collaborate closely with primary care providers, urgent care clinicians, and external therapists to ensure a seamless continuum of care.
• Patient Advocacy & Psychoeducation: Deliver brief supportive therapy and coping strategy guidance to patients and their families.
• Thorough Documentation: Maintain rigorous, confidential, and timely documentation of psychiatric medical histories and progress notes in our electronic health record (EHR) system.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Education: Master’s or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with a psychiatric focus.
• Licensure: Active, unrestricted Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license in the State of Nevada.
• Specialty Certification: Board Certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) is required.
• Credentials: Active Nevada DEA and Pharmacy Board registration for prescribing privileges.
• Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in an inpatient psychiatric unit, behavioral health clinic, or psychiatric emergency services setting is highly preferred.
• Core Competencies: Exceptional active listening skills, profound empathy, strong de-escalation capabilities, and clinical confidence in managing complex psychiatric comorbidities.
